About Me

I teach chainmail and beading classes in Canada and the United States—in large convention centres, at stores, in homes —anywhere interested people can meet to learn new techniques or projects. I enjoy teaching, and I'm a certified teacher with many years of experience teaching adults.

The Classes

  • Many of these classes offer a choice of sterling or copper versions. Given the current high prices for silver, this is my attempt to make the projects affordable for more students. it is also a response to the current fashion trends for copper jewelry.
  • All classes emphasize careful work habits and professional-looking work. We discuss how to locate related sources & resources, and we think about creative options for future projects that build on the skills you are learning.
  • Kits include step-by-step instructions that are clearly illustrated with photos.
  • Chain mail class kits contain saw-cut, hardened, sterling silver or copper jump rings that we make and carefully polish.
  • In chain mail classes I supply pliers (designed for chainmail) for your use. This is an opportunity to try out a variety of pliers. Of course you may bring your own if you wish!

Optional

You will note below that added pendants and charms are optional. This is for two reasons—to allow for choices beyond what I will bring to class, and to provide a more affordable project for more people.

Class Levels

Beginner means just that—I assume that you have never done a chain mail project.
Beginner Plus means that you have previously completed a chain mail project
Intermediate means that you have previously completed a couple of chain mail projects.
Advanced means that you have previously completed several chain mail projects.
