Bead Stringing: Convertible Necklace (Beginner)

Come and make a necklace with a detachable centre section. The sides of the necklace are built with commercial chain that attaches to a centre beaded section about 7 inches long.

Supplies: I will have bags and bags of beads of every colour: stone beads, glass beads, and metal beads. I'll also bring chain, beading wire, crimps, crimp covers, wire protectors, jump rings, clasps and beadcaps.

Tools will be provided, but if you have your own, please bring them. We'll be using crimp pliers, cutters, chain nose pliers and flat nose pliers.

The Boss Pearl Necklace (Beginner, All Levels)

This is not your classic pearl necklace. No knotting required! Start by making a simple length of chain and adding a clasp. Next, take a bunch of large Swarovski™ crystal pearls, use headpins to wire wrap them and then add them to the centre section of the chain. Voilà, a super gorgeous necklace! Choose Argentium™ sterling silver or copper.

The silver kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, Argentium™ sterling jump rings, large Swarovski crystal pearls, sterling headpins and a sterling lobster clasp.

The copper kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, copper jump rings, large Swarovski crystal pearls, copper headpins and a copper lobster clasp.

There are sufficient rings for an 18 inch necklace. All rings are saw-cut and polished.

All tools supplied for class use. Optional: eyeglasses or magnifiers, personal tools.

Master the crimping tool! Learn about a variety of findings to help create a professional looking piece of jewellery.You will gain confidence for your next bead store buying adventure!

Flat Mesh Bracelet (Beginner Plus)

This is a delicate bracelet that flows like fabric around your wrist. It is a beautiful classic design, and it can be worn unadorned or embellished with a scattering of pearls, crystals, gemstones, metal beads or art glass drops.

We will discuss creative options for future projects that use this weave. Choose sterling silver or Jeweller's Bronze (a bronze that is close in colour to gold).

Bonus: A pattern for diamond shaped mesh earrings will be included.

Kit: The kit includes step-by-step illustrated instructions, silver or bronze jump rings in two sizes, two charms and a special toggle clasp (sterling or vermeil).

There are sufficient rings for a 9 inch bracelet, and all rings are saw-cut and polished.

Earrings & Pendants (Beginner)

Design earrings to complement favourite outfits. Choose supplies from a wide variety of beads, chain, and sterling or gold filled clips, hooks or posts. Learn to make simple wire loops & double loops.

As well as making earrings you can use these skills to prepare a bead to use as a pendant.

We will discuss design ideas and learn about types of earring findings and other supplies as well as resources for inspiration.

Supplies: I will have bags and bags of beads of every colour: stone beads, glass beads, and metal beads. I'll also bring all my earring-making supplies. Receive a handout for How to Make Wire Loops.

Tools will be provided, but if you have your own, please bring them. We'll be using cutters, round nose, chain nose and flat nose pliers.
Bring eyeglasses or magnifiers for close-up work.

Caribbean Blue or Green Mobius Bracelet (Beginner, All Levels)

This bracelet was inspired by the blue and green colours of the Caribbean Sea. It starts with the rare, blue Larimar gemstone found only in the Dominican Republic, and continues with the reflective vitrail greens of Swarovski™  Rivoli crystals. Larimar Links are set in sterling, and the Rivoli Crystals are set into copper links—and then connected together with Mobius balls of intertwined rings. Outstanding!

I will bring several samples of jewelry to show a range of ways touse the Mobius ball segments.

The silver kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, Argentium™ sterling jump rings in three sizes, sterling and Larimar links, and a sterling toggle clasp.

The copper kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instructions, copper jump rings in three sizes, Swarovski Rivoli crystals, copper link frames, and a copper snap clasp.

There are sufficient rings for a 9 inch bracelet. All rings are saw-cut and polished.
